Tere Garcia
Founder and Curator of Performance in Flux
Tere Garcia is a multidisciplinary artist and curator, known for her innovative work in performance art and experimental video through her platform, Performances in Flux. After completing a residency at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in 2022, she moved to Miami and began teaching performance art at the Miami Art Institute. Following the university's closure in 2023, Tere shifted her focus to Performances in Flux, reflecting her commitment to advancing performance art and supporting fellow artists.
Performances in Flux collaborates with galleries and alternative spaces to present experimental and thought-provoking work from both emerging and established artists. This initiative underscores Tere’s deep understanding of the artistic challenges, informed by her own experiences. Her curatorial practice is a continuation of her artistic journey, dedicated to fostering a supportive community.
Currently, Tere teaches at Barry University, further expanding her role in academia while continuing her own artistic and curatorial work. With an MFA from Parsons School of Design, she has curated notable exhibitions in Houston, New York and Miami . Her multifaceted career highlights her role as both an artist and a curator, committed to expanding the field of performance art and nurturing a vibrant artistic community.
MIGUEL GONZALEZ
Production Director of Performance in Flux
Miguel Gonzalez, MFA, Miami, Florida is a contemporary artist, and professor from Venezuela and the USA. Gonzalez graduated from The Parsons School of Design in New York City. He teaches Art and Technology at the New World School of the Arts. He is the creator of Immersive Design Studio “Origen Lux”. His main interests are new media and technology, sound art, language, and multi-sensorial art spaces.
He has a permanent light art installation at the MAD Arts Museum in Florida, and has exhibited at The Royal College of Art in London, Superblue Miami for the Chroma Art Film Festival, , the Lishui Biennale in China, and the Sheila Aronson Gallery in Manhattan. He has also exhibited at the Contemporary and Digital Art Fair during Art Basel, Immerse Festival in Orlando, New Media Festival at the Doral Contemporary Museum, IIDRR Gallery in NYC, and The Miami Art Society Gallery.
